Uncommon Community
Scripture Reference
Acts 2:42-47
What makes a church community different from any other social group? Discover the power of biblical community.
What made the early church so extraordinary wasn't their building or their programs — it was their devotion to one another. Acts 2:42 says they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to breaking of bread, and to prayer. Four things: truth, community, communion, and prayer. That's the DNA of a healthy church. They also shared everything in common. Not because they were commanded to — but because they wanted to. When the Spirit moves in a community, generosity becomes natural. And the result? Acts 2:47 says 'the Lord added to their number daily.' You don't grow a church by adding programs. You grow it by deepening community.
