Finding Peace in the Storm
Scripture Reference
Philippians 4:6-7
A message of comfort for those going through difficult seasons. Learn how to anchor your soul in Christ.
We live in an anxious age. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health challenge worldwide. Yet Philippians 4:6 says 'do not be anxious about anything.' How is that possible? Paul doesn't say: don't feel the storm. He says: pray through it. The prescription for anxiety is not willpower — it's prayer with thanksgiving. When you pray, you're not informing God of your problems. He already knows. You're transferring your grip. You're saying: I was holding this, but now I'm handing it to You. And then — verse 7 — 'the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.' Guard. Like a sentry. Like a soldier standing at the door of your thoughts. Peace is not the absence of problems. It's the presence of God.
